Member for Cranbourne District, Jude Perera MP has called on the community to volunteer to mark International Volunteering Day, December 5. Mr Perera, who is volunteering locally, said when people in the community volunteer, everyone benefits.
“I am hoping that people will follow my lead, and the lead of hundreds of thousands of people across Victoria including in our local area – who volunteer,” Mr Perera said. “Some people help out with a sporting team, some people help out at a local school, some people don’t even know it, but they have been volunteering for years.
“It’s a great way to get involved in the community, and you can also lend a hand to a local group that you think does good work.
“I hope that people from across our local area can find some time to help out by volunteering.”
